Pair of Brass Sangu Chakara Vishnu Oil Lamps from South India. Ht 11 cm x Dia 5.5 cm

Divine pair of brass Vishnu oil lamps known as Sangu Chakara vilakkus, handcrafted by artisans from South India used in the Vishnu temples since centuries by worshippers belonging to Vaishnavism religion and followers of Lord Vishnu.

Inspired by the religion, the oil lamp is sculpted and engraved with the Vaishnavism symbol and traditional round shape with a protruding snout for the wick and flame when lit. The shallow cup of the diya is to store oil for the wick.

Vishnu is one of the most important gods in the Hindu pantheon and Vasihnaism, the largest Hindu sect along with Brahma and Shiva, is considered a member of the holy trinity (Trimurti) of Hinduism.
