From our vintage collection: This Old fashioned Milk Pail for storing milk can still be found in most rural households in India.

The word “Doodhwala” in the Indian language when literally translated, means “one who sells milk from a can or pail”. “Doodh” means milk and is sold from a large pail which is usually a cylindrical tin , brass or aluminium container.

A typical morning in India is the familiar " Milk man " from the closest village on his bicycle going from house to house delivering Cow or buffalo milk in the neighbourhood fresh from his dairy in such cans which though are much larger.

Handmade from solid brass with a lid and a handle, this milk can | Pail | vessel is a collectors item.
