A Collectors item - Delicately handcrafted brass beetle nut cutter displaying twin peacocks and a lions head. The 2 long handles when opened show the cutting edge to crack the beetle nut into small pieces.
Widely used in the mid century to break or cut Beetle Nuts into small pieces for chewing which was a day long activity by the ladies of the house along with beetle leaves, stored in a brass box called a "Paan Daan".
Handcrafted by artisans in Uttar Pradesh, this nut cutter comes with a cutting edge and can be used even today or shown off as a "conversation starter".
