Vintage Brass Bust Sculpture of Devi Tara - Female Buddha & Goddess of Universal Compassion. Ht 32 cm x W 20 cm

This is a stunning bust sculpted in brass of Devi Tara or Goddess Tara, the female Buddha and meditational deity wearing a magnificent crown beautifully engraved by skilled artisans handcrafted in an exquisite dark and light chocolate brown patina and gold finish.

Devi Tara's face is smooth and beautiful. Her eyes are downcast in introspection. There is a tear shaped bindi on her forehead with her lips and nose are full and broad giving her a royal appearance.

Considered to be the goddess of universal compassion who represents virtuous and enlightened activity, she is the most popular goddess in the Buddhist Pantheon.

The worship of Tara is believed to help one in overcoming fears and anxieties and for her desire to save the people from suffering, said to be even stronger than a mother's love for her children.
