This exquisite statue of Lord Krishna is crafted with intricate engraving on the robes, the crown and finished in rich dark gold and copper patina by artisans from the South of India using centuries old traditional methods of metal casting and engraving.

Dark and extremely handsome, the word Krishna literally means 'black' which also connotes mysteriousness and a favourite with all the village girls called "Gopis.

The anecdotes and narratives of Krishna's life are generally titled as Krishna Leela. He is a central character in the Indian Epics Mahabharata, Bhagvata Purana and the Bhagavad Gita, potrayed in various perspectives such as a God-child, a prankster, a model lover, a divine hero and the supreme power.
