Majestic 45 cm Tall Vintage Brass Sculpture of Hindu Diety Lord Krishna - God Of Compassion

Majestic 45 cm tall brass sculpture of Hindu God Krishna playing the flute stands on a round 3 tiered pedestal beautifully sculpted as per century old traditions of metal casting in a dark brown patina finish hand crafted by artisans from the south of India.

The great exponent of the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna is the god of compassion, tenderness, and love in Hinduism and is one of the most popular and widely revered among Indian divinities.

One of the most powerful incarnations of Vishnu, the Godhead of the Hindu Trinity of deities and of all the Vishnu Avataras, he is the most popular, and perhaps one closest to the heart of the masses. Dark and extremely handsome, the word Krishna literally means 'black', and black also connotes mysteriousness and a favourite with all the village girls called "Gopis".

The anecdotes and narratives of Krishna's life are generally titled as Krishna Leela. He is a central character in the Indian Epics Mahabharata, Bhagvata Purana and the Bhagavad Gita and is also potrayed in various perspectives: A god-child, a prankster, a model lover, a divine hero, and as the supreme power.
