This is a majestic brass sculpture of Lakshmi - Indian goddess of wealth and prosperity wearing an ornate robe and fine jewellery standing in front of an intricately crafted Prabhavali with twin elephants on either side.

Her four hands represent the goals of human life considered important to the Hindu way of life which are Dharma, Karma , Artha and Moksha protected by the mythical Yali see on top of this sculpture.

Wife and Shakti (Energy) of Vishnu, one of the principal deities of Hinduism and the Supreme Being in the Vaishnavism Tradition, Lakshmi is also found in Jain temples and has also been a goddess of abundance and fortune for Buddhists seen represented on the oldest surviving stupas and cave temples of Buddhism in India and Southeast Asia.

Goddess Lakshmi is considered to be auspicious and can be found in most Indian homes in their temples / puja rooms and worshipped with flowers during daily prayers for wealth and prosperity of all the members of the family.
