This is a beautiful vintage brass Anklet hand crafted by the tribal artisans from the state Odhisha, Eastern India, using century old techniques and style with brass metal.
Crafted with small beads all across its surface and smooth curved lines, the anklet is filled with small metal balls which make a pleasant sound when shaken.
Known as Dhokra, this unique and famous craft is centuries old and uses the technique of "Cire Perdue" metal casting where the outer surface of the core wax model is covered with multiple strands of wax wire.
The craft is still practised and widely used with minor variations all over the Eastern India's tribal areas mainly predominant in the states of Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand .
