From our Vintage Collection - This is a traditional 42 cm tall oil lamp from Kerala with seven grooves to light the wicks dipped in oil and mounted on an elegant bronze and gold patina finished pillar with smooth contours, handcrafted by artisans from the South of India.
Using the process of metal casting following century old traditions, the drip pan is finished with incised rings and the lamp sits on an exquisitely crafted round pedestal.
Such oil lamps or Vilakkus as they are traditionally known are usually handed over from one generation to the next signifying as per the Hindu tradition, the moving from darkness of life into the light bringing joy and prosperity to all.
Measures: Height 42 cm with a base diameter of 15 cm at the top and the bottom of the lamp.
