This beautiful brass lamp is a work of art, handcrafted by artisans from the South of India of the most famous Hindu God Ganesha, suspended on a thick brass chain.
The brass lamp has 20 diyas / lamps for the wicks dipped in oil with the sculpture of the elephant god Ganesha hanging on a brass chain with a hook. The sculpture is enhanced by 2 beautifully crafted peacocks on either side with a " Yali " on the top and twin lions flanking the base of the peacocks.
These oil Lamps hold an important place as per hindu mythology and are still used in temples and at homes all across the world. They are lit to perform rites or prayers before the God and also to drive away the Darkness from the house / world.
The lamp when lit with a Ganesh idol traditionally marks the beginning of any thing new/ and is a pious ritual which always have his blessings.
