Vintage Brass Sculpture of Hindu Deity Hanuman - Devotee of Lord Rama. Height 40 cm

One of the most popular of Hindu deities - Hanuman is the son of Vayu, the God of Wind and is looked upon by Hindus as the ultimate hero of the epic Ramayana famous for his loyalty and bravery and as one of the greatest devotees of Lord Rama, in other words the Vanara who aided Lord Rama in rescuing His Consort, Sita, from the Demon king, Ravana.

Handcrafted in excellent quality brass, Hanuman with his typical ape like resemblance like Humanoids created by Brahma - Creator of the Universe and other gods to help Rama in battle against Ravana, is sculpted in a standing posture with his right hand raised in the Abhaya Mudra gesture of fearlessness atop a square pedestal holding his main weapon - The Gada or Mace.

Hanuman represents the figure of the ideal being, as he is humble yet brave. His physical prowess, mental discipline and spiritual purity have made him extremely popular as the provider of courage, hope, knowledge, intellect and devotion.
