This is a Vintage brass foot Scrubber with twin elephants in a playful stance.
Known as "Vajris", these foot scrubbers from the Mughal era were made in various shapes of favourite pets and animals by skilled artisans of the royal family and used mostly by the princely women while bathing to scrub their feet.
Crafted in brass, this scrubber has a rectangular base as the pedestal displaying perforated lattice work, a checkered rough base for scrubbing and finally a majestic hand crafted lion as the handle.
Small metal balls called Ghungroos or metal balls are filled inside the base which make a sound when they are used to basically warn off others in the vicinity that women were bathing nearby.
Can be used a good paperweight or actually for scrubbing your pretty feet.
