Vintage Octagonal Hanging Brass Planter In Brass & Copper Finish - Length 80 cm x 22 cm Dia

Vintage 80 cm tall Octagonal shaped brass and copper planter with a exquisitely handcrafted mesh / Jaali work in a floral design on each wall hanging on thick chain with a crafted figure of a woman in traditional costume and a peacock near the hook of the chain. The planter depicting the paws of a lion for each of its legs is held together by 3 thick link chains and peacock shaped as the hook. 

As per tradition, such planters were used to light coal or wood known as a Sigri in the mid century, now used indoor or outdoors as a planter. Handcrafted by artisans from the south of India, this is a Collectors item.
