Beautifully crafted wooden tikka box in a shape of a heart with a floral engraving and handcrafted with a bust of a horse for opening and closing the box with a sliding motion.
The box when open has 5 small eye shaped compartments for storage and opens only when you push the horses head forward before you slide it open.
Handcrafted in mango wood, such tikka or make up boxes were used in the mid century for storing " sindhoor" known as vermilion worn by married women in the parting of their hair to show respect for their spouse , their long life and a sign of marriage.
