Collection of 5 handcrafted wooden tikka boxes in a riot of colours of blue , yellow, orange, white and more in a variety of shapes and sizes and hand painted floral motifs
Handcrafted in mango wood, such tikka or make up boxes were used for storing " sindhoor" known as vermilion worn by married women in the parting of their hair to show respect for their spouse , their long life and a sign of marriage.
Each box comes with a sliding lid / cover with 2 to 3 compartments depending on the size.
Measures: All boxes range from 6 inches to 9 inches in length, 4 inches wide with a average height of 3 inches each.
Weight of all 5 boxes : 3.9 kilograms
Note: Boxes are vintage and in excellent condition. Nothing is broken . May need a coat of paint unless you like the distressed look and feel .
