Handcrafted from a single block of wood with a natural dark brown finish, this sculpture of Lord Ganesha is carved and chiselled by hand from the soft and delicate Mango wood found in most States of south India.

Ganesha, also known as Ganapati and Vinayaka, is one of the best-known and most worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon found throughout India, Srilanka, Thailand and Nepal and widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences and the Deva of intellect and wisdom.
As the god of beginnings, he is considered highly auspicious and honoured at the start of rituals and ceremonies.
