This is a majestic brass sculpture of Lord Vishnu - One of the principal deities of Hinduism revered as the supreme being in Vaishnavism and worshipped for adopting various incarnations or avatars to preserve and protect dharmic principles whenever the world is threatened with evil, chaos and destructive forces.
Standing in front of an intricately crafted Prabhavali, his four arms hold the sankha (a conch), chakra (discus), gada (mace) and padma (lotus) respectively.
The Mythical Garuda at the feet of Lord Vishnu is the legendary bird-like creature and the vehicle mount (vahana) of Vishnu and also the protector with power to swiftly go anywhere, ever watchful and an enemy of the serpent, also known as Tarkshya and Vynateya.
Handcrafted in brass by artisans of Tamil Nadu, South India, Vishnu is seen wearing ornate robes and jewellery and symbolizes protection, peace and the dispelling of fear.
