Heramba also known as Panchmukhi Ganapati or Panchmukha Vinayaka ( ganpati with 5 faces ), is a five-headed form of the Hindu god Ganesha important in Tantric worship making it one of the most popular of the 32 forms of Ganesha.

According to Hindu mythology, the benefits of this idol are increased by five folds literally as each head of Panchamukhi Ganesh symbolises the Pancha Koshas or five sheaths in the subtle anatomy of human beings. They are the Annamaya, Pranamaya, Manomaya, Vijnanamaya, and Anandamaya. The five faces symbolise the five components that make for the human physique.
Worshipping this idol is considered most auspicious as it evokes the power to regulate these five senses which include renunciation, divine love, affection, authenticity and brave action.
Two of his arms are held in the Varamudra pose which is the boon giving gesture whilst the other is held in the Abhayamudra gesture denoting protection of the devotee.
