Vintage Brass Temple Bell On A Chain With Lord Ganesha - L 79 cm x Dia 13.5 cm

This magnificent 79 cm long brass bell with the figure of Lord Ganesh - God of wisdom, hangs on a long thick brass chain with links and a hook, hand crafted by skilled artisans. 

One can find such bells in all sizes and height hanging at the entrance of most Hindu temples or prayer rooms at home and it is traditional to ring the bell while entering or exiting the temple once prayers are over as a sign of good omen.

The bells are also rung to start all puja / prayer ceremonies that signifies offerings to the Gods and is believed to be the first sound of creation, OM and as per the old saying, also meant to to keep evil forces away.
