A magnificent square wall panel crafted in wood depicting the Ten incarnations or Avatars with Lord Krishna traditionally known as Dashavatar handcarved from a single block of local wood by skilled artisans from Tamil Nadu, South India.

The word Dashavatara derives from Daa, meaning’Ten’ and Avatar (avatra), meaning’incarnation and in this panel referes to the ten avatars with Krishna as the central figure and is the mythological story of the 10 avatars of Vishu who descend to the terrestrial world to establish stability and order, time and again.

The list of Dashavatara varies across sects and regions as Krishna, Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Sri Rama, Balarama and Kalki.
