Crafted in brass, this is a handheld aarti of the Garuda holding a single oil and wick lamp mounted on a pedestal crafted with the mythical Yali - Half lion Half horse, by skilled artisans from the South of India.

Garuda is a Hindu demigod who is primarily depicted as the mount (vahana) of the Hindu god, Vishnu.

Described as the king of the birds with a kite like figure, he is shown as a giant bird with partially open wings and is generally portrayed as a protector with the power to swiftly travel anywhere, ever vigilant and an enemy of every serpent. He is also known as Tarkshya and Vainateya.
