Exquisite brass swing of Lord Ganesha sitting in a relaxed posture with one leg crossed and his right hand displaying the Abhaya mudra or "Fear not" hand position and in his other two hands, he holds an elephant goad and a noose.
Handcrafted by skilled artisans with a rich copper and gold patina, the swing sits on a rectangular base flanked by majestic temple pillars of the prabhavali intricately sculpted with majestic peacocks, brass bells hanging on chains and protected by the mythical Yali on top of the frame.
His vehicle, Mooshika, can be seen sitting on Ganesha's right looking up at him in awe.
Ganesha, also known as Ganapati and Vinayaka, is one of the best-known and most worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon. His image is found throughout India, Srilanka, Thailand and Nepal. Worshipped regardless of affiliations, Ganesha is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences and the Deva of intellect and wisdom.
