In Hinduism, the Shankha or Conch is a sacred emblem of the Hindu preserver god Vishnu.
This beautiful pair of Shankhas are tea light holders hand crafted in terracotta by skilled Indian artisans from Rajasthan with exquisite moulding and a round terracotta base for a tea light.
Shankas mostly made from brass are found in temples, households blown during celebrations, weddings and festivals by the head of the house or the priest for hindu rituals and were used as a war trumpet in the mid century.
The shankha is praised in Hindu scriptures as a giver of fame, longevity and prosperity, the cleanser of sin and the abode of Lakshmi, who is the goddess of wealth and consort of Vishnu.
