Majestic Brass Nut Cutter With A Galloping Horse & Rider - Length 22 cm x Height 12 cm

A majestic brass nut-cutter reminiscent of mid century India and the Mughal era in the form of a beautifully handcrafted galloping horse with a rider on its back.

The front portion show the horse with the rider while back of the cutter is the handle engraved with motifs and intricate design complete with a cutting blade.

Such nut cutters were widely used in the mid century to cut or crack Nuts and Beetle nut in particular into small pieces for chewing which was a day long activity and eaten by itself or with beetle leaves, stored in a brass box called a "Paan Daan".

Handcrafted by artisans from the South of India, this majestic nut cutter is a collectors item and a "conversation starter".
