Vintage Brass Sculpture of Hanuman - Devotee of Lord Rama. Ht 39 cm

Handcrafted in excellent quality brass, Hanuman with his typical ape like resemblance like Humanoids created by Brahma - Creator of the Universe and other gods to help Rama in battle against Ravana, is sculpted in a standing posture with his hands folded in respect to Ram and seen holding his GADA or Mace - the main weapon of Hanuman.

One of the most popular of Hindu deities - Hanuman is the son of Vayu, the God of Wind and is looked upon by Hindus as the ultimate hero of the epic Ramayana famous for his loyalty and bravery and as one of the greatest devotees of Lord Rama, in other words the Vanara who aided Lord Rama in rescuing His Consort, Sita, from the Demon king, Ravana.

Hanuman represents the figure of the ideal being, as he is humble yet brave. His physical prowess, mental discipline and spiritual purity have made him extremely popular as the provider of courage, hope, knowledge, intellect and devotion.
