Mounted on an elegantly crafted pedestal, the lamp's base has 5 spouts with 4 beautiful swans making up the pillar of the lamp or Deepam or Vilakkus, usually handed down from one generation to the next, signifying as per the Hindu tradition, the moving from darkness of life into light bringing joy and prosperity to all.
