Vintage brass lamp of Ashtalakshmi depicting the eight manifestations of Devi Lakshmi - Hindu goddess of wealth flanked by majestic elephants. She presides over eight sources of wealth: "Wealth" in the context of Ashta-Lakshmi means prosperity, good health, knowledge, strength, progeny, and power.
The Ashta Lakshmi is always depicted and worshipped in a group in temples and home. Lakshmi is the wife and Shakti (energy) of Lord Vishnu, one of the principal deities of Hinduism and the Supreme Being in the Vaishnavism tradition. With Parvati and Saraswati, she forms Tridevi, the holy trinity.
Handcrafted by skilled artisans from the South of India with the mythical Yali engraved on top of the lamp , the back of the lamp displays twin majestic elephants with the auspicious Kalash.
