Pair Of Traditional Vintage Brass Flower Baskets, Poola Sajja, L 16 cm & 12 cm

Flowers being one of the most beautiful and colourful creations of nature and make an essential part of the Hindu way of performing rituals and prayers known as “Pooja”. Hindu scriptures say that essentially any of the three things namely “Pushpam”, “Phalam”, and “Toyam” meaning flower, fruit, and water should be offered to God everyday.

This exquisite pair of flower baskets known as the “Poola Sajja” in the south of India have curved brass handles and a charming octagonal shape with 8 sides for storing flowers. Hand made with brass metal sheet, the baskets are skilfully crafted where the brass sheet-metal work is joined by hand pressing using the traditional lock forming technique.

Traditionally used to hold flowers for Puja / prayers in the house and during religious occasions.
