A beautifully handcrafted vintage brass Paan Daan, traditionally used in Indian households to store betel leaves and an assortment of paan condiments.
Sourced from South India, this timeless piece reflects both functionality and cultural heritage.
The box opens to reveal a thoughtfully designed interior — a removable tray with six individual compartments for storing classic paan ingredients such as cardamom, supari (areca nut), cloves, kathha, and other flavourings.
The lid features a small circular compartment, traditionally used for chuna (lime paste), while the spacious base beneath the tray is designed to keep fresh betel leaves.
Beyond its utility, the Paan Daan holds a special place in Indian tradition. It was often a center piece in homes where paan was served guests as a gesture of hospitality and enjoyed leisurely during conversations and gatherings.
Today, it stands as a charming reminder of a bygone era and with its warm patina and vintage character, this piece also makes for a unique decorative accent or collectible.
